Nephthys Head and Regatta 2008
by SecretaryCongratulations to all our novice crews who competed in Nephthys Regatta today and all the men’s crews who also competed in the head race yesterday. In spite of the bitterly cold weather and illness affecting many of the rowers the crews gave racing their all, with some noteworthy results:
- In the regatta Men’s B stormed through the opposition thrashing Pembroke B by more than 15 lengths, Brasenose B by 3 lengths, and Merton A by 1/2 a length. Unfortunately that were knocked out in the semi-final by Exeter A after a close race.
- Women’s A were knocked out in the first round of the regatta by Wolfson A who went on to finish in second place overall.
- Women’s B beat St Catz A in the first round but were beaten by Trinity A in the second round.
- Men’s A won the Novice M8+ division in Nephthys Head covering the course in 6.16 minutes.
- Men’s C came in closely behind them in joint second place with a time of 6.19 minutes.
Now it’s all eyes on Mighty Mansfield for a sterling performance in Christ Church Regatta!
